Can you Handle this?
In an age in when the ritual has become something we explore through the use of our digital devices, the intimate relationship we have with everyday objects is at risk of becoming warped. To understand this, I explore our relationships with everyday objects and how, through the sense of touch, commonly-used gestures may help to build connections between the surfaces we encounter.
Over the course of a day, we meet countless materials and objects but rarely consider these surfaces of negotiation within the everyday environment. If we consider gestures as a language, then the actions we perform and the surfaces we encounter result in conversations with our surroundings. Where body meets details inside architecture, the commonplace ritual occurs.

I en tid då ritualen har blivit något vi utforskar genom användningen av våra digitala anordningar riskerar den nära relation som vi har med vardagliga ting att snedvridas. För att förstå detta utforskar jag vårt förhållande till vardagliga ting och hur vanligt förekommande gester kan bidra till att skapa kopplingar mellan de ytor som vi stöter på genom känselsinnet.
Under loppet av en dag stöter vi på otaliga material och föremål men funderar sällan på dessa ytor av förhandling inom den vardagliga miljön. Om vi betraktar gester som ett språk, leder de handlingar som vi utför och de ytor vi stöter på till samtal med vår omgivning. Den vardagliga företeelsen uppkommer i korsningen mellan kropp och detaljer inom arkitektur.
